In the BSI seed list in November 1994 there was seed called Aechmea
tillandsioides Mexico on offer. Andrew Flower of New Zealand grew these and
obtained a Brazilian from the Ortgiesia sub-genus of Aechmea looking very
similar to an Aechmea gamosepala. So if you did sow this seed and the
plants grew like this photograph would you please change the name to
Aechmea aff. gamosepala
