" In the USA in the mid 1980's there were plants called Canistrum fosterianum v. pardinum. In the 1988 Sept./Oct. issue of the BSI Journal page 209 Harry Luther pointed out that the correct name for this plant is Canistrum triangulare. 10 years later in Australia we still come across Canistrum fosterianum v. pardinum because some are too lazy to correct their labels. I am certain this same situation occurs in the USA and this is a reminder. This time with pictures of both plants to show you how the confusion could have arisen. The inflorescences, of course, are the same. " |
