"Aechmea pimenti-velosoi variegata on page 62 of Baensch's book, Blooming Bromeliads, is incorrect. It is really Aechmea 'Pie In the Sky'. See Bromeliad Cultivar Registry, page 27. The correct A. pimenti-velosoi is as shown here! The 'Aussie' plant agrees with the formal description and a herbarium specimen of a clone of this plant is held at Selby Gardens."
